The 2025 Hockey Africa Nations Cup will mark the 12th edition of this prestigious tournament. Held every four years, the competition holds immense significance as it offers the winner direct qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026.

- Nigeria (Qualified from West Africa)
- Kenya (Qualified from East Africa)

Importance of the Tournament
This tournament is of great importance to all participating teams as it presents a golden opportunity to secure a place in the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026.
South Africa, the highest-ranked team, enters the tournament as the favourites. However, they will need to be cautious of Egypt, who put up a strong challenge in the previous edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022. The 2022 final between South Africa and Egypt ended in a 1-1 draw, with South Africa winning the title through a penalty shootout. Both teams will be looking to build on this rivalry as they head into the 2025 tournament.
