Men's Hockey Junior Africa Cup 2025

The 13th edition of the Men’s Hockey Junior Africa Cup is set to be held in Namibia from 18th to 25th April 2025. The tournament is an Under-21 event, meaning that all participating players must be under the age of 21 to be eligible.
Participating Teams
A total of 8 teams will be participating in this edition:
- South Africa
- Egypt
- Namibia
- Nigeria
- Ghana
- Zambia
- Zimbabwe
- Kenya
Tournament Format
The teams have been divided into two pools of 4 teams each. The top 2 teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals, while the teams finishing 3rd and 4th in their respective pools will compete in 5th to 8th place classification matches.

- Egypt

Tournament Importance
This tournament holds great significance as it serves as a direct qualifier for the Hockey Junior World Cup 2025. The top 3 teams will qualify for the World Cup:
The two finalists will earn direct qualification.
The third qualification spot will be decided through a playoff between the two semi-final losing teams.

The opening match of the tournament will be played between Kenya and Nigeria, followed by South Africa taking on Namibia. The full match schedule for the tournament is:
Defending Champions & Past Winners
South Africa are the current defending champions and have won the tournament five times. They defeated Egypt in the 2023 final in a penalty shootout. The third position in the last tournament was secured by Kenya, who won 2-1 against Zimbabwe in the 3rd place playoff.
The top goal scorer of the previous edition was James Flint of South Africa, who scored 5 goals.
