Tom Boon Leads Top Scorers as FIH Pro League 2024-25 Reaches Halfway

Some interesting stats to look at as we reach the halfway point of the Men’s FIH Pro League 2024-25. A total of 162 goals have been scored so far, with some players dominating the charts.
At Number 1, it’s Tom Boon, a Belgian forward who has scored a total of 14 goals with an outstanding average of 1.75 goals per match. Not only is he the top scorer among all players, but an interesting fact is that he has scored more goals than Argentina and Ireland combined, as both teams have scored 11 goals each in the FIH Pro League so far.
Number 2 on the list is Samuel Ward, who has scored 11 goals. The forward from England has an average of 1.38, being one of only three players with an average above 1 in the FIH Pro League so far.
The positions are followed by PRINZ Thies, Tomas Domene, and Koen Bijen, all with 5 goals in the league so far. The full list of top scorers is here: [Click Here].

Team Standings at Halfway Point
At the halfway mark, England and Belgium both have 16 points, sitting in 1st and 2nd position, respectively. India follows closely behind with 15 points, currently in 3rd place. The Netherlands sit in 4th place with 14 points, while Germany are in 5th place with 13 points.
Interestingly, Germany has scored the most goals in the tournament so far, with an average of 3.25 goals per game. They have scored a total of 26 goals so far.
Australia is currently in 6th place with 12 points, having conceded only 12 goals—the least number of goals conceded by any team, with an average of 1.5 goals per game. Spain also has 12 points, tied with Australia. Argentina sits in 7th place with 9 points. Ireland, currently at the bottom of the table and on the verge of relegation, has only 1 point, which came from a draw against England.

What’s Next?
A great second half of the league is expected, with all teams still having a chance at winning. The upcoming 8 games will be crucial for every team, as the World Cup 2026 spot also depends on the team finishing at the top.
If Belgium, Netherlands, and Australia—who have already qualified for the World Cup 2026—finish at the top, the spot will be given to the highest-finishing team after them.
Upcoming Games
The FIH Pro League will continue on 7th June 2025, with Spain taking on Argentina, and Netherlands facing India. Both games promise to be big as we head into the second half of the league.
